Introduction
Today I begin writing a little bit of "my story". I hope it has a happy ending, but wither way, I wanted to tell it. Why? At the top of the list is for my children. Not that their father is the bravest and most wonderful person in the world, but to make sure they take the needed precautions in their lives to prevent some of what I've been through.
I also hope others will read about "My Journey" as well, and maybe it will in some way help them. Cancer patients new and old can see they are not alone. Maybe one person will see a doctor for a check up that results in an early detection of cancer. I am a high school counselor, and I guess the need to try and help someone is always there.
I also feel there are some intangibles in this journey that I wanted to bring to others. The power of meditation and positive thought. The power of family and friends. Being mentally prepared. The power of God.
In 1990 I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. I recovered, became a cancer survivor, and moved on with life. On June 25, 2002, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. This time things were a little worse.
This introduction begins my "crusade". A crusade to make others aware; to tell my story; to get others to help defeat this disease. This is what it was and is like for me. It also a self healing. This is "My Journey Through Cancer".
